Ellie Collins

As the Education Manager of the Dolphin Research Institute, Ellie leads the award-winning leadership program, ‘i sea, i care’, developing primary school students into environmental stewards.

Following her Zoology and Ecology and Conservation Biology degree, Ellie has worked in and out of the water as a snorkel guide and environmental educator. She is passionate about connecting people with the marine environment through hands-on experiences and science communication.

Her drive for marine conservation deepened significantly during a university marine science field trip to Heron Island, becoming a certified freediver and interning with the Dolphin Research Institute upon return. She has dedicated significant time to volunteering with wildlife rescue organisations, wildlife sanctuaries, and citizen science initiatives, including leading events such as the Great Victorian Fish Count run by the Victorian National Parks Association.
