Millowl | Phillip Island is renown for its wildlife and conservation programs. As a visitor, and those of us lucky enough to be a local, we may encounter swamp wallabies, Cape Barron geese, shearwaters, and little blue penguins just to name a few. But what wildlife can be observed in our local waters? More specifically, what cetaceans [si ta shens] – dolphins and whales - can we see from land or from an ecotourism boat around Millowl | Phillip Island? Join Dr Sue Mason to learn more about the cetaceans that can observed around our Island and how and when you may possibly see them. Learn how we, as scientists, use images and observations, often taken from ecotourism vessels, to improve our understanding of the presence and behaviour of these marine mammals in our local waters. And importantly, discover how you can safely see these incredible cetaceans for yourself.
