From the 11th June to the 11th July experience a range of activities that celebrate the annual whale migration.

Island Whale Festival

Various Venues

The Island Whale Festival weekend will be held at various venues across Phillip Island and include a range of activities and events, including talks, workshops, whale spotting, whale cruises, art and craft, and more!

June 12 - August 8

Whale Watching Cruise

Wildlife Coast Cruises

A 4-hour cruise that circumnavigates Phillip Island in search of the Humpback and Southern Right whales, visiting Seal Rocks, with regular dolphin and albatross sightings. Includes morning tea and lunch.

Bass Coast Whale Discovery Trail

Phillip Island

From May to October, you can spot whales along the coastline of Phillip Island and Bass Coast on the Whale Discovery Trail. Take a walk, ride or drive along the discovery trail to spot whales and learn about the natural environment.

Dolphin and Whale Cruise

Wildlife Coast Cruises

Set sail on a 3-hour winter dolphin & whale adventure venturing past the sheer cliffs of Cape Woolamai and along Phillip Island’s attractive southern coastline.

Island Whale Comedy & Dinner Night

We are super excited to host the first Island Whale Festival comedy show dinner at the Cheeky Goose Cafe.

Join Marcus Ryan, Bev Killick and Jon Bennett for a night of laughs, fun and a 2-course meal.

Clay Sea Creatures

Come and get creative and make your own favourite sea creatures out of clay to take home. Learn about the amazing sea creatures that live in the rock pools and the ocean. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The Snail and the Whale

Pom Pom Whales

Make your very own cute whale out of pom poms. Learn about these huge majestic animals that live in our ocean. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Design A Whale Rock

Bass Coast Shire Council

Be creative and design your own whale rock. Take your rock home and make sure you look after it or you may even want to hide your rock so someone else can find it. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
